Things to do in Portland

Garden

Portland Japanese Garden

611 SW Kingston Ave

The Portland Japanese Garden is gorgeous in the fall. Check out the Japanese maple tree, then be sure to stop by the Umami Cafe for a warm cup of tea!

Museum

Portland Art Museum

1219 SW Park Ave

This is one of our favorite spots in downtown Portland! Take a tour through the galleries, then grab a matcha and a snack at the Behind the Museum Cafe.

Parks

Forest Park, Washington Park, Laurelhurst Park, and Mt. Tabor

Each of these parks are special to us for different reasons. Looking for a classic PNW hike? Check out Forest Park. Looking to have a lunch picnic somewhere? Check out Mt. Tabor or Laurelhurst. Have fun exploring the gorgeous fall colors!

Things to explore around Portland

Coast

The North Coast (Cannon Beach, Manzanita, Nehalem, and more)

The Oregon coast is such a special place! If you are planning to stick around the area for a while, we highly recommend a quick trip over to the North Coast. You won’t regret it.

Forest

The Columbia River Gorge

The Gorge is one of the iconic natural landscapes in Oregon. Explore the eateries and breweries in Hood River, take a hike up to the top of Multnomah Falls, or simply go for a scenic drive up to the Vista House.

Wine

Willamette Valley Wineries

There is no shortage of fantastic wine in the Willamette Valley region. One of our favorites is Elk Cove, both because it is delicious and because we had a chance to visit this winery with Beth when she visited in October of 2022. Perfect for a day trip the day after the wedding.
